Average person spend spends nearly four-five hours per day in social media apps including Instagram, twitter, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, Tiktok and many more. Nowadays it's not possible to delete app like WhatsApp because of this pandemic most of the instructions of our daily work is given through that only.
When you spend time on social media it's fun because you don't have to work on that it's your chill time. You waste your precious time on watching useless things. You can utilize that time on your and your self development also. Famous Web Streaming app Netflix also made on documentary movie(Social dilemma) on this topic. This documentary-drama hybrid explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations.

1.It allows you to break the social comparison cycle
People's generally compares themselves with what they see on social media and and itself raise problem of less self-esteem.
For example, if everyone you know is going for trips and enjoying but you're still in home doing nothing. you may end up feeling isolated and lonely. This can even lead to serious depression for some people. Try to break down this unhealthy cycle. Just take a break from social media so you can reconnect with all of the awesome things in life.

Do you spend a lot of time looking at old tweets or Facebook stalking your ex,watching useless videos? This can keep you stuck in a negative Mindset. As you have so many free time, you think what to do in this time and my come up with very creative idea out of your mind that can make you more wealthy and mentally stable.
How you can do it now when everything is going online?
As because of pandemic so many organizations are running online and you're doing your work From home. So now every work related notification coming on WhatsApp so basically we can't delete WhatsApp for now but You can do weekend detox or one week detox for that. besides WhatsApp you can delete everything, if you have very important work on your social media handles then make a goal of using it only for half hour a day, it can help you to continue your work as well as detox.
You must be thanking about me! as i am telling you this i have done this. i have deleted my all social handles for more than one month, and i feel more fresh, productive from that detox. Initially it's hard to spend your time because we're so lazy for doing work. but as days goes you get used to it.
when i got lot of time first i tend to sleep in that time after few days i started reading a book unfortunately i can't finish it in that time. i spend some time in watching and reading about latest technology's and some questions that raised in my mind that time.
After doing this detox when i opened my all social media handles i feel there is no change in it everything is same and we're wasting your precious time using it.
how i get idea to do social detox? :)
When Netflix releases their movie social dilemma, i seen it and i realized important's of it.
Then i done it. but i haven't uninstalled WhatsApp though because of my work.
